Whores in my head.....

I'm still getting over how fucking astronomically amazing Wednesday's Pixies show was. So as evveryone knows one of my favorite bands the Pixies got back together this year and have been touring nonstop with it all winding up for like an unheard-of 7 day sell out at Hammerslime Ballroom - which was supersmart because that place is intimate enough that you can actually get into a live show but feel like in a huge crowd. One of my best friends Nicole and I went and caught the tail end of opening act Le Tigre, which was cute but kinda boring (nice how a neon layered Brooklyn dyke band with a beared man-tran bores me these days...) , but their cover of I'm So Excited was right on... In between we were making fun of all the 30sumpin hipsters that were just kinda languidly slithering around, moping like it was 1992, but thank god there were a bunch of cute teenage boys that offered us up some hashpipe, which we (reluctantly) refused. Finally the band took the stage, and Tom was right in saying Kim Deal looks like Roseanne Barnold now….

Nicole and I managed to wrangle ourselves 3 deep from the front (you have to love how aggressive/nuts we are together), and they opened with Wave of Mutilation..... and at that point we knew we were about to get hit with 10million pounds of sludge from Kim Deal and the teenage of the year. 

Just like he's been apparently doing throughout this tour, Joey Santiago destroyed his gold Gibson guitar onstage during a mindblowing solo freakout during Vamos and I swear I wish it could have lasted forever, but by this point Blaque Francis was sweating so heavily it was virtually gonna flood the stage. My favorite song Broken Face had me pogoing and bouncing with utter abandon, and they just continued to play classique stuff one after another. I have got to see them one more time before they leave our fair city.

And like I tend to do at these concerts I fell in love with someone in the crowd - this time it was a smallish latin boy with inked half-sleeves and an ironic (?) sleeveless plaid shirt which kinda worked on him-- anyways if you are that cute guy reading this  (or recognize him from these pics I took.....), tell him to give me a kawl!!!
